Sermon Outline

Matthew 5:3-6

The ground is level at the foot of the cross.

At the foot of the cross, we all come with the same circumstances and position.

Sin means I did it my way.

Grace means unmerited, unearned, and undeserved favor.

Jesus calls us to be experts about ourselves and to know God.

Jesus is wanting a very certain trait to reign in His people. He wants us to be meek.

Jesus calls us to become coachable.

Tom Brady and Desmond Howard’s coach from the University of Michigan says both were hungry for input, for information, and to learn.

This coach is talking about the attitudes and coachability of great athletes.

2,000 years ago, Jesus was saying, “Do you want to be a person of God with His presence empowering you?”

If you will see yourself as poor, if you will make yourself coachable, and if you will hunger and thirst to do the right thing, you will be filled.

You will become a champion and overcomer in your life.

You can become a hero of the faith.

You can become a person of valor.

When we know God, we learn that He is Almighty God. All power rests in Him.

What is the way to the miracle of God in your life? Hunger and thirst for righteousness, and you will be filled!

This pathway, day by day, moment by moment, week after week, and month after month of applying yourself brings you to excellence.

You read, are mentored, are coached, and are drilled into the place of the elite.

Hungering and thirsting for righteousness is the pathway to satisfaction in the will of God.
